4th Trimester Care Gaps

There is a dire lack of care in the 4th trimester in the US. 4:8 Physio can help fill your [huge] care gap. 🩷

Entering motherhood can feel like “falling off a cliff,” says Meghan Doyle, co-founder and CEO of Partum Health, a company stepping into the healthcare gap that is the 4th trimester of pregnancy. New mothers are greatly struggling to adjust to their new normal, with the CDC finding maternal mortality is highest in the year following childbirth.

In the US, the common experience for women transitioning from pregnancy to motherhood is having very frequent appointments with one (if not several) providers, to having all focus shifted to their baby immediately after giving birth. After going through the major physical and emotional experiences of pregnancy and childbirth, mothers are then thrust into a totally new reality that is caring for an infant. The only expected support is a 6 week postpartum appointment, a sparse comparison to what is provided in other countries.

Women are struggling, and so there lies our obligation to offer support and guidance. Nearly everything has changed for new mothers, but we offer special services to help you find your footing.
